Junior Orsi Engineering Team is getting ready for next semester!
During our third event of the year we will dive into artificial intelligence, a rapidly evolving branch of the medical and engineering sciences. Would you like to discover how the networks behind this technology function and how they can be used in the operating room? Are you keen to learn how to train an AI-network for robotic instrument detection in surgery?
During our third event of the year we will dive into artificial intelligence, a rapidly evolving branch of the medical and engineering sciences. Would you like to discover how the networks behind this technology function and how they can be used in the operating room? Are you keen to learn how to train an AI-network for robotic instrument detection in surgery?
During our workshop you will work with an already provided basic deep-learning network under the guidance of Orsi Surgical AI’s Computer Vision engineers. From this network, you will be challenged to do further coding with the final goal of training a network with optimal detection of surgical robotic instruments used in robot-assisted partial nephrectomy.

The workshop will be divided into two parts enhanced by a presentation on existing applications of AI in surgery by Dr. Ir. Pieter De Backer. Afterwards, a walking-dinner will be provided with an opportunity for networking and further questions.
This event targets engineers who would like a first introduction to artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning as well as engineers who want to learn more about the practical applications of AI in surgery. In order to facilitate the workshop and maximize learning opportunities participation requires a basic knowledge of Python.

Applications are open to all until 10/01 via the Google Forms below. On 10/01, 30 people will be chosen at random and contacted via e-mail to confirm attendance at the event. Engineering students and Junior-Orsi members will be given priority.
