Kick Off 2024: Surgical Olympics

The moment we have all been waiting for is almost here: on September 28th, we are thrilled to host the eighth annual Junior Orsi Kick-Off. In the aftermath of the Paris Olympics, this event will have a competitive touch with a winning prize per track.

This event marks the start of a new year filled with exciting activities such as Career Day, Congress, Medical & Engineering Workshops, and Lectures.

Taking place at Orsi Academy (Proefhoevestraat 12, 9090 Melle), the Junior Orsi Kick-Off is open to anyone passionate about innovation and medical technology. Whether you’re a medical student, dental student, engineer, economist, or biomedical student with an interest in cutting-edge medical advancements, we welcome you to join our journey. We believe that a multidisciplinary approach is essential to gaining a broad perspective.

During the Kick-Off, we’ll introduce ourselves and outline what Junior Orsi has planned for the year ahead. Expect a remarkable line-up with high-level speakers including war surgeon Dr. Bart Vanderheyden, orthopedic hip resurfacing surgeon Dr. Koen De Smet and ex-Olympian Ann Wauters.
We are also offering interactive workshops on kidney transplantation, maxillofacial surgery and robotic surgery with the DaVinci by Intuitive to improve your robotic surgical skills.
