On saturday the 19th of February we organized our yearly congress event: ‘Innovation in Urgent Care’.
We focused on the different aspects of trauma from both medical and engineerings perspectives.We are proud to have welcomed amazing speakers.
Dominique Benoit and Alexander Deconick from Stryker talked about the broader use of Hoffmann LRF and robot-assisted joint replacement. Dr. Nick Cleymans and Dr. Stig Walravens of the Department of Urgent Care of Ghent University Hospital teached the attendants videolaryngoscopy and echo FAST. Dr. Bart Vanderheyden talked about his experiences in war surgery and Dr. Ignace Demeyer about repatriation flights. We also thank Prof. Dr. Paul Calle and Emergency Volunteer Application (EVapp) for the clear explanation about respectively the contingency plan and the mechanism behind an emergency call. TRAINM – Neuro Rehabilitation Clinics showed us again his work in neurorehabilition and thanks to Filip De Craemer the attendants learned how to handle stressfull situations.
