The Engineering of Drug Delivery
September 26, 2023 @ 18:30 - 22:00
The Junior Orsi Engineering team invites you to the first evening event of the year: The Engineering of Drug Delivery.
Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common form of primary liver cancer and the second-highest leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Effective and site-specific strategies for the administration of therapeutic drugs are urgently needed, especially for patients with unresectable tumors. Due to imprecise drug delivery, severe side effects can occur during treatment.

On September 26th, we welcome Tim Bomberna, a biomedical engineering PhD student liasoned with UGent, who developed computational tools to deliver drug particles effectively and reduce side effects.
We will start off the evening with a captivating lecture by Tim on this research and its applications. This will be followed by a workshop during which you can get to know the software.
